Membership, Baptism, Confirmation

To become a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd means that you are taking a journey to be part of the family of Believers in Christ and a part of our Good Shepherd family through Baptism and Confirmation.

On Sunday, April 30th, LCGS welcomed The Cook family, Marge Donovan and Jean LaPorte to our family of believers. You are INVITED TODAY!

Holy Baptism:

God gives us the gift of eternal life! Through Baptism, we don’t think the water in Baptism is just plain water, but it is the water included in God’s command and combined with God’s Word!. We believe that God combines His life-creating and life-giving Word with the water and thereby we are “born again” of water and the spirit (See Bible verse John 3:5).  The Grace of God was given for the remission of sins.

For teenagers in 7th and 8th grade. We offer another Sacrament, Confirmation.  The process involves two years of extensive learning and helps youth understand and begin to partake in the rite of communion, but more importantly how to apply faith in their daily lives, especially in Today’s World.
