Since 1986, LCGS has provided meals to the Chase Homeless Shelter for men on the last Saturday of any month with five Saturdays. Members of the Social Ministry Team coordinate donations of casseroles, soft drinks, paper products and bread. The JOY group provides brownies and assists in a the delivery of warm, hearty dinners and nutritional bag lunches (for up to 200 men in the Emergency Shelter).

Chase Shelter &

Men’s Emergency Shelter

This ministry provides assistance to members of LCGS during times of crisis or need. Usually during illness, hospitalization, and death. Many church members volunteer their time and talents to assist in whatever the individual or family needs.

Helping Hands

Good Shepherd is a growing family of faith bringing Christ to the community and the community to Christ.

Food Pantry

LCGS supplies food to needy people who come to the church for assistance. Food is provided to everyone who makes a request.

Clothing Donations

Interfaith Clothing Center in Rockville is a recipient of the clothing which is donated by Good Shepherd. Members volunteer to bring clothing donations to the Center to help men working toward getting back into the working environment.

Congregational members and community residents are welcome to bring in non-perishable food for the pantry.

The families we help request the following items: canned meat, tuna fish and salmon, macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice, spaghetti sauce, canned fruit and vegetables, soup, cereal, peanut butter and jelly.

Donations of food are accepted at any time in the Narthex.
