Care Groups

Care (Caring And Respecting Everyone) Groups—Get like minded people together. There are several CARE groups at Good Shepherd.  Some features activities geared just for men, or women or families (game nights); others are more wide-ranging (international travel, nature walks, art excursions, book club and scrapbooking).  Each group features a core connection among the members that foster communication and support.  Contact the office at 301-774-9125 for more details.

Scrapbook Care Group Meetings as determined by the group, everyone bring supplies and photos and we’ll help you get started! Male and teen scrappers welcomed and encouraged to join in the fun.

Lunch Bunch meetings are determined by the group. Next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 14 at 12:00 p.m.

Nature Walkers meetings are determined by the group. Contact Martin Predoehl for more details.

Book Club is held on Sunday, February 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Wing.  The next reading selection is “Thunder Dog” by Micahel Hingson.  All are welcome and come with or without food, as there is always plenty for everyone.

Day Trippers meet at church on February 6 to attend the Choir at Strathmore. The Broadway Musical “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown at the Olney Theatre on 2-29 at 2:00 p.m.  Bureau of Printing on March 14 & in Marine Museum in April. Game Night is held on the third Friday each month (February 17) for fellowship, food and fun. Game Night is held at the home of Lynn & Mary Kay Dean from 7:15 p.m.  For more details, contact Andy at 301-774-8298.

Ladies Bazaar Craft-making Meetings at 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays, enjoy fellowship while making arts and crafts items for the annual sale that benefits other care groups at Good Shepherd. Special  Material Scraps are needed, please see Newsletter for more details.

Archeology Recovery Klub (A.R.K) - Be part of the new Archeology Recovery Klub when they search for coins and other valuables that are hidden underground. More Details to come. Contact Phil at opticman@aol.com or Steve Gordon at beercanman@gmail.com.

Hear The St. Olaf Choir on The 2012 Centennial Tour on Monday, February 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Strathmore Concert Hall. Their annual tour continues the tradition of bringing the choir’s artistry and message to the nation. With a minimum of 15 people we will be able to obtain a 15% discount. Tickets are $ 30.00, 40.00, 45.00 and 50.00. Transportation from the church will be available.
