A Word from our Director:
Shepherd’s Care was opened in September 1997 in the Family Life Wing of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, and has grown from the original 33 students to an enrollment of 76 children.
What does this mean to our parents? First, that their children are provided a warm, loving, Christ-centered environment in which to play, learn and grow. Second, that the teachers have the necessary education and experience to provide a quality learning opportunity for children. And, third, that their children have fun!

REGISTRATION DETAILS
Tours and Information Sessions are available by appointment during the school year. No registration is necessary; children are welcome to attend with you. School is in session from September until May
CLASS DETAILS
We offer three different classes to choose from, please see child's age requirement prior to enrollment.
Program for 3 Year Old Children - Must be 2.8 years old at time of enrollment.
The 3's Class focuses on making friends, getting into routines. Discover centers offered to provide varied play (dramatic, art, science, block building, language and manipulaties).
Program for 4 Year Old Children - Must be 3 by 9/01/2010.
Pre-K Program - Must be 4 by 9/1/2010.
The Pre-K classroom strengthens areas like phonic-sounds and syllables to form words, math-patterns, numbers and addition. An introduction to Geography, History with lots of fun Science experiments to engage the children. Independence and responsibility are encouraged to help your children be prepared for Kindergarten.
CLASS HOURS
All classes begin at 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. School is in session from September until May
RATES
For your convenience, Shepherd's Care Children's Center offers flexibility to fit your schedule. We are pleased to offer your choice of days that range from 2 to 5 days per week - (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday)
2 days a week = $290.00 per month 3’s CLASS ONLY
Enrollment is based upon availability of each day. Please see Director for details. Children with special needs will be considered for acceptance into Shepherd’s Care Children’s Center on an individual basis.
We ask that the Parent inform and discuss these needs with the Director prior to acceptance. We reserve the right to dismiss any family whose needs we can not meet or any family whose parents do not adhere to the policies and procedures of Shepherd’s Care Children’s Center.
Shepherd's Care admits students of any race, color, national, or ethnic origin. Children with special needs will be considered for acceptance on an individual basis. Tours of the school and Information Sessions are offered Monday through Friday by appointment. No registration is necessary; children are welcome to attend with you.
REGISTRATION and MATERIALS FEES, DISCOUNTS, MEDICAL FORMS
Fees - Registration and materials fee are not refundable. Registration fee is $40.00 for each enrolling child. Materials fee is $95.00 for each child.
Deposit - A deposit is required of $100.00. This deposit is not refundable unless the student completes the preschool year with us. At that time the $100.00 deposit will be applied to the May tuition charges. If a student withdraws prior to May, a 30-day written notice is necessary to receive a refund of the $100.00 deposit.
Sibling Discount - A 10% discount for the younger child(ren), when 2 or more siblings are enrolled.
LCGS Members - There is a 10% tuition discount for communicant members of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
Medical Information - All medical forms must be returned to the school no later then the end of August. Children must have completed forms on file before starting school. (This is a requirement of Maryland licensing regulations).

NOW ACCEPTING SUMMER PROGRAM REGISTRATION
Summer, Christian experience for children ages 3, 4, and 5.
Session I - June 14-18
Session II - June 21-25
9 am - 1 pm
Themes
Each day there is a new theme. Your child will have the opportunity to experience everything from outdoor water play, to making new friends! “Themes-for-the-Day” will include Friendship Day, Water Day, Flag Day, and Olympic Day. A complete listing of the daily themes will be coming soon!
Fees: $200 per session ($50.00 application fee will be deducted from the weekly rate)
Location: The Summer Program will be located in and on the grounds of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4200 Olney-Laytonsville Road, Olney, Md 20832.
Registration
Registration is on a first-come, first serve basis. To register for the program, complete a Registration form for each child. (A non-refundable deposit of $50. Applied to the weekly fee) must accompany the completed Registration Form.

The 4's Class challenges children to improve phonics-sounds, letters, shapes, matching sounds to letters. Introduces math patterns and re-inforces number recognition, improves gross motor skills and helps children improve reading comprehension.
3 days a week = $360.00 per month
4 days a week = $425.00 per month
5 days a week = $485.00 per month
